SUBJECT: Back to School, Back in the Loop đź’› Your PTO Scoop
SCHOOL’S BACK. SO ARE WE.
August kicked off with PTO showing up across all five schools, from back-to-school events and school spirit to the first programs and traditions of the year. And we’re just getting started.
Membership contributions and fundraising help bring so much of this to life throughout the school year. Take a look at what’s ahead, and if you haven’t yet, remember: memberships do not auto-renew. Join, renew or donate to help keep it all going.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL, PTO STYLE
Back-to-school season came in hot, and PTO was along for the ride. From the High School Kickoff and Middle School Back-to-School Blast to open houses and curriculum nights across the district, volunteers helped welcome families, share resources and bring plenty of school spirit, including in-person Spirit Wear with Summer Sunday at nearly every stop.
A warm welcome to new Primary School Principal Melissa Garris, pictured in the bottom-left photo with Assistant Principal Matthew Ivoska and PTO volunteers at Curriculum Night!
HOSPITALITY HITS THE GROUND RUNNING
We hit all the major food groups this August: breakfast, pizza, donuts and coffee.
PTO Hospitality was busy welcoming back and treating teachers and staff across our schools. Here’s the proof.
PITCHING IN WHERE NEEDED
Our volunteers also helped out at Picture Day and Youth Night, two more ways PTO lends a hand to help school events run a little more smoothly.
Youth Night also brought back the now-beloved PTO Prize Wheel! Thanks to the families who donated prizes, the wheel stayed spinning and the concession area was full of some very happy kids.
MUM’S THE WORD
Our district-wide Fall Mumkin & Mumster Fundraiser is officially open, with multiple beautiful fall mum options and wicker candles to choose from. Every purchase helps fund student enrichment, school events, financial assistance, scholarships and teacher grants.
Order by Friday, Sept. 11: Visit fundraiseIt.org → click the green Online Shopping button → search by the student’s last name, first 2–3 letters of their first name and school name (New Albany).
Coffee, donuts and good conversation made for a lovely first Drop In After Drop-Off! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Annex to connect with other parents and learn a little more about the PTO. A morning well spent in good company!
COFFEE + CONVERSATION w/ DR. RUSSELL
PTO members joined High School Principal Dr. Russell at Fox in the Snow for Coffee + Conversation and an informal discussion about what’s happening across the high school and district. Topics ranged from building projects and attendance to student mentorship, upcoming events and the start of the school year. A relaxed morning with plenty of good conversation and community input.
YOUR SEAT AT THE TABLE
We’re hosting our first-ever Mahj Fundraiser! This fun, wildly popular game is bringing people together for an afternoon of friendly competition, learning and giving back. Whether you already know how to play or want to learn, grab a friend and join us while helping raise funds to support our students and teachers across the district. Register here!
